چکیده
http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/1806-9282.63.01.18 Spondylodiscitis affecting the cervical spine is the most unusual type. Disease progression can be dramatic, even causing quadriplegia and death. We present an unusual case that progressed with osteolytic lesions between C2 and C3, causing cord compression and epidural abscess. The patient was treated surgically by a double approach and improved without neurological deficits and with better inflammatory markers. We reviewed the current literature on the subject.

High Grade Infective Spondylolisthesis of Cervical Spine Secondary to Tuberculosis
Spondylolisthesis coexisting with tuberculosis is rarely reported. There is a controversy whether spondylolisthesis coexists or precedes tuberculosis. Few cases of pathological spondylolisthesis secondary to tuberculous spondylodiscitis have been reported in the lumbar and lumbosacral spine. All cases in the literature presented as anterolisthesis, except one which presented as posterolisthesis...

Background and Importance: The development of C5 root palsy is a well-known potential complication of cervical spine surgeries for the correction of cervical spondylotic myelopathy. It typically occurs unilaterally but on extremely rare occasions it might occur as a bilateral anomaly. The value of intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring in detection of iatrogenic acute versus delayed onset C...

Cervical spondylodiscitis (SD), although less frequent compared to that which affects ...

متن کاملManagement of Postoperative Spondylodiscitis with and without Internal Fixation.
Postoperative spondylodiscitis is relatively uncommon. This complication is associated with increased cost, and long-term of inability to work, and even morbidity. Although the majority of postoperative spondylodiscitis cases can be well managed by conservative treatment, postoperative spondylodiscitis after internal fixation and those cases that are unresponsive to the conservative treatment p...
